Check out Unsinkable’s newest Storytelling Program!
THREE CLEAR GOALS
Creating storytelling partnerships with both local organizations & communities
Creating spaces for diversity groups to express their emotions and participate in discussions around mental health.
Building greater visibility for Unsinkable on the field.
Recent research on narrative therapy shows that when it comes to life stories, those who find redemptive meanings in their past challenges and adversity, and who tell their life stories with ideas that include agency, exploration or more open-mindedness enjoy higher levels of mental health, well-being, and maturity.
The Field Engagement Program will focus on connecting with immigrant associations, LGBTQ+ communities, Youth, Indigenous groups, veterans, and other marginalized populations across Quebec. By partnering with local organizations and holding in-person workshops, we aim to create a platform for these communities to share their experiences, fostering deeper understanding and empathy through storytelling. Workshops will be held in partnership with local organizations that already have trust and rapport within these communities. Each session will provide a safe, creative space for participants to share their stories, while also fostering group discussions on mental health and recovery.
