I’ve had the privilege of working alongside Silken from the conception of the Unsinkable organization. From hearing her say the words, “I have always wanted to create a platform that empowers people through story” to actually building a place that reaches, supports and empowers so many people across the globe. Unsinkable was born completely out of Silken’s passion for helping people discover their courage to live full, healthy, and vibrant lives. Our community has shown me the strength in vulnerability, taught me that struggle is universal; and continues to remind me of the power of human connection. Together, we can turn our darkness into our greatest gifts. I look forward to continuing our important work in health education and mental health support, while being a community that people can rely on.
